J. Schwalm is an artist practicing in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Schwalm holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Foreign Languages and Literature with a concentration in French from Old Dominion University. Her work has been included in juried exhibits including: D’Art Center’s Annual Juried Exhibition of Portraiture, Suffolk Center for the Cultural Arts annual A Walk on the Wild Side: Furry Friends, Art Works Contemporary Art Center’s monthly All Media Show, and the NEON District’s wayfinding posters which was included in the publication, NEON at Ten: A History of Public Art in Norfolk’s Arts District. Schwalm is also an active committee member of the art group, 757 Create, helping to orchestrate shows and markets to give more opportunities for local creatives in Hampton Roads.
